May is National Walking Month!
Everwalk is thrilled to join Good Morning America in promoting a month of walk events across America and around the world.
DATE: Saturday, May 20th, 2023
MEETING TIME: 10am EST
Join EverWalk’s Central Park Ambassador Ann Marie Rakovic for a Saturday Walk in America’s most famous park — Frederick Law Olmstead’s Central Park!
We will take a leisurely stroll (approximately 3 miles) through the North Woods of Central Park, and you will feel transported from a bustling city into a serene country vibe. Prepare for a few uneven sets of stone steps without handrails and dirt paths that are rocky and rooty for a portion of the walk. The North Woods is forestlike with birds and other wildlife, rocks, trees, wildflowers, wooden bridges, a ravine, and mini-waterfalls.

MEETING SPOT:
John Purroy Mitchel Memorial in Central Park, NYC:
Mayor John Purroy Mitchel Memorial
2 East 90th Street, NYC, NY 10128
Enter the park through 90th Street and Fifth Avenue, and cross the road with runners and cyclists. Stay on the dirt path (bridle path) on other side of the road. Meet in front of the John Purroy Mitchel statue, a gold bust on the stone wall with 2 sets of stairs just BELOW the reservoir path. Look for a few people in Ever Walk gear!
All participants must be COVID-19 vaccinated. There are no bathroom stops on the walk.
