May is National Walking Month! EverWalk is thrilled to join Good Morning America in promoting a month of walk events across America and around the world.
Join EverWalk Ambassadors & Mother-Daughter Team: Joan and Michele Tierney in Seattle WA on Saturday, May 13, for a two-mile walk observing and counting birds of Shovelers Pond, Central Pond, and the Lake Washington Shoreline.
Meet at 9 AM at the University of Washington Center for Urban Horticulture Loop at the Union Bay Nature Preserve.|
See the map below for directions.
Free Parking is available.
Bring binoculars, cameras, and your bird checklist.
For more info about this global bird count event, on the Seattle Audubon website.
If you cannot join Joan and her group in Seattle, create your own virtual event:
• Reach out to a local birding group and join their walk.
• Gather your friends and go out and see how many birds you can see.
• Download the Cornell University birding app — Merlin — and try to identify birds as you walk.
Share your birding walk photos and videos on the WalkWithGMA Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/walkwithgma
We’d love to know where you walked and what birds you saw.
